WHAT GAMES REQUIRE CD IN DRIVE
AND WHAT GAMES DO NOT REQUIRE A CD IN THE DRIVE?

There are 2 Lists
NOTES

Here I will create a list of what games require you to put the game CD or DVD in the drive and what games don't require that.

The reason for creating this list is because I am against CD check in PC games click here to find out why

I want to make it clear that I am aware that there are no cd cracks available but I don't like cracking games I bought to disable cd checks nor do I want to start having daemon tools running an image in a virtual drive.

This is list of what games don't need a CD legitimately which means the game only need the disc upon installation and not everytime you want to play.

If there's a game here I am wrong about feel free to post in my forum and tell me why

 

 

 

LIST OF GAMES THAT DO NOT REQUIRE A DVD OR CD TO BE IN THE DRIVE
GAME NAME

Battlefield 2 Since patch 1.5 the game no longer required the game CD or DVD to be in the drive
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare The multiplayer mode does not require CD but the single player mode requires a CD in the drive
Doom 3 I have Doom 3 with it's latest patch installed and it doesn't require a CD
Half Life 2 Half Life 2 was released on Steam and it doesnt require CD in the Drive
Half-Life Half Life 1 might need a patch to disable CD in drive requirement
Diablo 2 Originaly did require the cd in the drive but if you download the latest patch it won't require it anymore after you copy some files, read this
Warcraft 3 / Frozen Throne If you install latest patch the game will no longer need the cd in the drive
Starcraft / Brood War Latest patch will stop the game need for a cd, Read this to learn how
World of Warcraft This game never needed the cd in the drive to play
Quake 3 Arena

Crysis Crysis requires CD to be in the drive

Need For Speed Shift Need For Speed Shift requires a CD in the drive unless maybe you download it using EA downloader, not sure about this
The Sims 3 Sims 3 needs the DVD in the drive
